Namesmith has no accounts and no sign-up, and it works fine if you decline analytics. Here is everything the site touches.
Starred names and your cookie-consent choice are stored in your browser's localStorage. They are never uploaded, and clearing your browser data removes them. There is nothing to delete on our side because we never had it.
When you generate or check a name, the names are sent to our server and looked up against Mojang's public availability API. Names found available by the generator can appear on the public leaderboard; the leaderboard stores only the name and its score, nothing about who found it.
We use Google Analytics 4 with Consent Mode. Analytics storage is denied by default: until you press Accept on the consent bar, GA runs cookieless and no analytics cookies are set. If you decline, that is the end of it. We use the numbers to see which features get used, nothing more, and we never sell or share personal data.
Like nearly every website, our server keeps standard access logs (IP address, requested page, timestamp) for rate limiting and abuse prevention. Logs rotate out automatically and are not used for profiling.
The site is served through Cloudflare, which sees traffic as our proxy. When a checked name is taken, its owner's avatar is loaded from mc-heads.net, and result links point to NameMC; both are external services with their own policies. The Ko-fi link in the footer leads to an external page.
